What is Azure Security?

What is Azure Security?

Sat, 10 Apr 2021

Azure Security refers to the security tools and capabilities available on the Azure cloud platform in Microsoft. Microsoft says the tools to secure its cloud service encompass a wide range of physical, infrastructure, and operational controls.

Azure can support multiple programming languages, operating systems, frameworks, and devices, as a public cloud computing platform. Customers may access the services and resources of Azure, provided they are connected to the Internet.

What is the AZURE security center?

  • Providing visibility and security control of Azure’s resources, such as Virtual Machines, Cloud Services, Azure Virtual Networks, and Blob Storage.
  • Protecting hybrid workloads in Azure or non-Azure environments, and at the premises of customers.
  • Reinforcing the safety posture. The Azure Security Center checks the cloud environment and helps clients understand their resource status and security.
  • To detect and block threats to cybersecurity. There is a single dashboard that provides alerts and recommendations from the Azure Security Center. This also helps regulatory compliance, since security policies can be streamlined across the dashboard of the Azure Security Center.

Azure Security Center addresses the following security issues and challenges:

Ever-changing workloads

While on the cloud, customers can do more, the services that they use change all the time. The Azure Security Center is consistently helping to reduce the difficulty of implementing safety standards and best practices.

Increasingly sophisticated attacks

The more customers run their workloads on the public cloud, the more sophisticated the attacks get. Customers must also ensure that they secure their workloads, but in doing so they may be exposed to more vulnerability if they do not follow best practices in security. Azure Security Center can help with that task.

Shortage of security skills

A high number of security alerts and alerting systems, especially if they are not experienced, can overwhelm administrators. But with attacks, Azure Security Center may be able to help administrators.

It changes across different cloud service models:

  • As a service, Azure takes over physical security in IaaS infrastructures, such as hosts, networks, and data centers.
  • Azure takes over physical security and the operating system in PaaS-platform as a service. Azure shares its identity and directory infrastructure, network controls, and customer applications.
  • Azure takes on more responsibilities in SaaS-software as a service, such as physical security, operating system, network controls, and application. The identity and directory infrastructure Azure would still share with the customer.
